Editorial policy
Select World Journal aims to make thoughtful, accurate stories about objects, visual culture and shared customs. We explain our approach plainly and take responsibility when a published detail needs correction.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates and factual claims against suitable sources before publication and distinguish fact from interpretation. We consider context, wording and cultural specificity, and avoid claiming that one example represents an entire place or community. If a subject cannot be handled responsibly with the material available, we narrow it or leave it aside.
Independence
Editorial decisions and conclusions are made independently. A commercial relationship does not buy favourable coverage, influence a review or guarantee publication. We do not imply personal experience or testing that has not taken place.
Corrections
Readers can point out a possible error through the Contact page. We review the concern, check the relevant material and correct substantiated mistakes. When a change materially affects the story, we explain the correction in the article.
Partnerships and illustrations
Sponsored features, partner contributions and other commercial material are clearly labelled so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where used, they are identified as such and are not presented as documentary evidence.
